Residential & Luxury Living

Bespoke home cinema, multi-room audio, and smart home AV for luxury residences.

Your home should sound and look exactly as you imagined it. ProLab's residential division creates bespoke audio-visual and smart home environments for luxury villas, penthouses, and residences across the UAE — where attention to detail and discretion are as important as technical performance.

We design dedicated home cinemas with acoustic treatment and 4K/8K projection, whole-home multi-room audio systems that follow you from room to room, and smart lighting that responds to time of day, mood, or a single button press. Outdoor entertainment areas — pool terraces, gardens, majlis — receive the same engineering quality as interior spaces, with weatherproof audio and lighting designed to impress.

Every ProLab residential project is bespoke: designed, installed, and commissioned by our specialists to the exact requirements of the homeowner, with white-glove service from first consultation to final handover and beyond.

FAQS

A purpose-built home cinema consists of several interconnected systems. The display system is typically a 4K laser or lamp projector with a motorised acoustically transparent screen, or a large-format direct-view LED or OLED display for smaller rooms. A multichannel audio system (7.1, 9.1, or Dolby Atmos configurations with height speakers) provides immersive sound. The room itself requires acoustic treatment - absorbers, diffusers, and bass traps - to control reflections and achieve the correct frequency balance. Seating is typically tiered for unobstructed sightlines, and the room's lighting is tuned for ambience and contrast enhancement. An AV processor, media server, and integrated control system tie all components together.

A whole-home audio system distributes music independently to multiple rooms simultaneously from shared or individual sources. A central audio matrix or streaming system (such as Sonos, Bluesound, or a custom matrix amp) receives sources - streaming services, network-attached media, vinyl, or broadcast radio - and routes them to amplifiers and speakers in each room. Each room can play a different source at a different volume, or multiple rooms can be grouped to play the same content in sync. Control is typically via a smartphone app, touch keypads in each room, or integration with a whole-home control system. In-ceiling or in-wall speakers provide a clean aesthetic without visible equipment.

The leading smart home control platforms for luxury residential are Control4, Crestron, Savant, and Lutron (primarily for lighting and shading). Control4 is the most widely deployed globally, offering extensive third-party device integration at a mid-to-premium price point. Crestron is favoured for the most complex, large-scale projects requiring bespoke programming and enterprise-grade reliability. Savant is known for its Apple-native interface and premium user experience. Lutron dominates the lighting and motorised shading segment and integrates with all major control platforms. All platforms require professional programming by a certified integrator and are controlled via touchscreens, keypads, handheld remotes, or mobile apps.

Outdoor AV equipment must withstand environmental conditions that would quickly damage standard indoor products. Key differences include IP (Ingress Protection) ratings for dust and moisture resistance - outdoor speakers and displays typically require IP55 to IP65 or higher. Enclosures must be UV-stabilised to prevent degradation from direct sunlight. Operating temperature ranges must accommodate both summer heat and cooler night temperatures. Outdoor displays require high-brightness panels (1,500 nits or more) to overcome sunlight washout that makes standard displays invisible in direct light. All mounting hardware, cabling, and conduit used in outdoor installations should be marine-grade or stainless steel to resist corrosion from humidity and irrigation.
