SOLUTIONS FOR
Entertainment & Leisure
Architectural lighting, LED screens, and audio systems for nightclubs, venues, and leisure attractions.
Entertainment venues live and die by atmosphere. ProLab engineers the audio, lighting, and visual systems that transform good venues into unforgettable ones — from the architectural lighting that defines a space before a single guest arrives, to the LED video walls and DJ systems that keep the energy going all night long.
We serve nightclubs, bars, lounges, theme parks, waterparks, cinemas, bowling alleys, and immersive experience venues with bespoke AV designs tailored to each brand and audience. Our installations integrate seamlessly with DMX lighting control systems, DJ booths, and show control platforms for fully programmable, automated environments.
ProLab has designed and built entertainment AV systems for some of the most recognised venue brands in the UAE and GCC — bringing technical excellence and creative ambition to every project.

FAQS
DMX (Digital Multiplex) is the industry-standard protocol for controlling stage and architectural lighting fixtures. A DMX controller - which can be a dedicated lighting desk, a show control system, or software on a PC - sends digital commands over a DMX cable to each fixture, controlling attributes such as intensity, colour, pan, tilt, beam angle, and strobe speed. In entertainment venues, DMX allows entire lighting rigs to be programmed into scenes and chases that can be triggered manually or automated to music using audio analysis. Most modern intelligent lighting fixtures, LED uplighters, and moving heads are DMX-compatible.
A line array is a speaker system made up of multiple identical speaker elements arranged vertically. Because the elements are arrayed in a line, their sound waves combine to produce a narrow vertical dispersion pattern that projects audio to a precise coverage area while minimising reflections from floors and ceilings. This results in consistent SPL (sound pressure level) and frequency response across the entire audience area - even in large, acoustically challenging spaces. Line arrays are the standard for concert venues, nightclubs, and arenas because they maintain clarity and impact at distances where a single point-source speaker would lose coherence.
For indoor entertainment venues, pixel pitch selection depends on the minimum viewing distance from the screen. A common guideline is that the minimum comfortable viewing distance in metres is approximately equal to the pixel pitch in millimetres multiplied by 3-4. For a bar or nightclub where audiences may be 2-4 metres from the screen, a pixel pitch of 1.5mm-2.5mm delivers sharp, high-impact imagery. For stage backdrops viewed from 5-10 metres, 2.5mm-4mm is typically sufficient. Consider also brightness (indoor fine-pitch panels typically offer 800-1,500 nits), refresh rate (higher refresh prevents camera flicker during filming), and whether the display will be viewed under ambient or blackout conditions.
Show control is the integration of multiple technical systems - lighting, audio, video, pyrotechnics, automation, and environmental effects - under a single control platform that triggers pre-programmed sequences automatically or at the push of a button. Show control systems use protocols such as MIDI, OSC, Art-Net, sACN, and timecode to coordinate events across different equipment. In an entertainment venue, show control might synchronise lighting chases, video content on LED walls, and audio playback to a common timecode track, enabling the same production to run repeatably every night with consistent timing. Leading show control platforms include QLab, Medialon, Alcorn McBride, and Green Hippo.
